SoundCloud has introduced AI mastering to their music and sound sharing platform. The new mastering feature is powered by Dolby and features four different types of mastering options for different tonal results. Mastering costs $4.99 per track or you get three free tracks per month as part of a SoundCloud Pro Unlimited subscription, costing $3.99 per track after that.
Online mastering company, CloudBounce, has announced an all-new Abbey Road Studios mastering, available to purchase alongside their integrated option alongside its own automated mastering service.
The new partnership gives producers the flexibility to choose between CloudBounce’s own low-cost online mastering, or plump for a human mastering engineer at the world famous Abbey Road Studios.
Costs range from just £3.99 per CloudBounce master with immediate turnaround, up to £90 (+ VAT) for an Abbey Road master, taking up to five business days to complete.
Mastering is a tricky subject – while there are no ‘one size fits all’ solutions, there are some key points to bear in mind when mastering your own tracks. Point Blank’s most recent FFL was all about the fundamentals – they were joined by PB mastering instructor Anthony Chapman (Franz Ferdinand, Klaxons) who was on hand to help out. Make sure you subscribe to Point Blank’s YouTube channel so you never miss out on future live tutorials.
