Leonard “Hub” Hubbard, longtime The Roots bassist, dies, age 62
Leonard "Hub" Hubbard, longtime bass player in seminal hip-hop group The Roots, has died, age 62.
The celebrated musician joined the outfit in 1992, when they were still called Square Roots, a year before their debut album arrived, 'Organix'. Hub would help define the sound of early LPs like 'Do You Want More?!!!??!' and 'Illadelph Halflife', and last featured on the 2006 outing, 'Game Theory'. In 2007 he was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer, which he tragically succumbed to on Thursday 16th December.

Dutch producer Subp Yao will release his new album. ‘Infra Aqual’, this month on Prague label YUKU.
Set for release on 20th November, the album is a deep dive into UK soundsystem forms, half-time bass pressure and lucid electronics. Inspired by the world found beneath the ocean, it’s an expansive, enveloping 13-track collection featuring collaborations with Jamaican vocalist Warrior Queen and dOOp.

After teasing fans about the potential follow-up to his 2014-released debut album, ‘Recess’, since January this year, DJ and producer Skrillex has now shared a brand new track ahead of a bigger project.
Early this morning, Skrillex shared a photo to Twitter showing him using Ableton's "share on Soundcloud" feature. Shortly after, the new production, 'Kliptown Empyrean', appeared on the producer's Soundcloud page.

Bristol artists Jurango and Yushh drink deep from the city’s bass well on two psychedelic drum workouts, while Brooklyn’s Kellen303 delivers impeccable, cavernous dubstep on ‘Pinehearse’.
Skrillex and Noisia are working on music together
Skrillex and Noisia are seemingly working on new music together.
US bass DJ and electronic outfit Noisia have previously collaborated on a number of projects, with Noisia remixing Skrillex's 'Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites' way back in 2010. The DJ and collective member Nik Roos also worked together in December last year, on a theme tune for Obselete, a mecha-based anime and YouTube original series.
