Above and Beyond have announced a New Year's Eve show in New York that has racked up almost 3,000 attendees on the Facebook event, without any official details having been announced.
Hailing from London, Tony McGuinness, Jono Grant and Paavo Siljamaki are Above and Beyond, three of trance music's most beloved superstars, often affectionally referred to by DJ Mag as the trance kings.
Eric Prydz's HOLO show will travel to New York City.
In a teaser video posted by the Prydz, the original HOLO trailer is shown, before the East Coast city name appears on screen.
Prydz debuted the HOLO show in Glasgow last year before touring various cities, which included a London takeover in May with Alan Fitzpatrick and Pryda affiliate Cristoph.

The lineup for the sixth edition of Sustain-Release has been announced, with incredible names big and small from dance music’s most creative corners.
Taking place in upstate New York from September 12th through 15th, this year the lineup features DVS1, Laurel Halo, Wata Igarashi, Jane Fitz, Powder (who DJ Mag interviewed this February), LSDXOXO, Bruce, Batu, DBridge, D. Tiffany, and Vladimir Ivkovic.
Westend released his ‘CLUBBLE’ EP in early 2019 as a serious statement of intent, and it’s safe to assume there will be some solid momentum behind this native New Yorker in the months to come. In weaving his quirky, bold personality into rollicking tech-house grooves, he's working on a sonic signature of his own. “What people describe as quirkiness is just the product of lots of experimentation in the studio,” Westend says, “trying to incorporate new sounds into a genre or building energy in a novel manner.
“Those guys wrote the bangers of their era [and] they still make amazing music,” he says. “The biggest takeaways for me are their ability to create tension and energy, and the timelessness of the music. Those are the things that I look to the most when trying to make a record.” It was the ’00s bloghouse movement that lit the fire inside Westend, and his studies in electronic music composition fanned the flames. After graduating from his studies at Duke University in North Carolina, he returned to NYC and dove headfirst into DJing.
$500,000 in grants is being offered to those who identify as women in the five boroughs of New York City by The City of New York Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME).
The grants are part of The NYC Women's Fund For Media, Music and Theatre Initiative, a project which in 2019 has awarded $1.5 million for various film, theatre and digital media projects by women.

New York artists Ishaan Chaudhary and Will Curry are on a mission to bring fusion and individuality to their corner of dance music. The unlikely duo met by kismet in the forests of India. “We were at an archaeological dig. It was pouring rain and we were digging,” the pair tell DJ Mag, writing together via email. “Our shovels touched and that was it.”
Last year, the duo harnessed their creative energy to launch ‘SAGA-I’, a concept EP centered around an imagined planet, populated by primal beings who give in to their vices in an effort to aggressively chase happiness. “It’s a place where no one ever lost that childhood wonder we are all born with. It’s a utopia of sorts,” they explain.
New York is getting a new club called The Sultan Room.
It will form part of the new Turk's Inn restaurant in the Bushwick area of Brooklyn, with the club set to be positioned behind the restaurant.
Bruce Easley, who will be programming the venue, has described The Sultan Room to Resident Advisor as a "mature playground" and compared the decor to a "time warp".
