We the Youth: Keith Haring’s New York Nightlife is a new book by DJ and writer Dave Haslam, tackling the artist and activist’s relationship with New York after dark.

Documenting the music and clubs that filled Haring's nights out in the late '70s and '80s, the book also explores his queer activism and the impact of the mid-’80s AIDs epidemic on his art.

Touching on the graffiti artists and DJs that made an impression on his work, the book also documents Haring’s relationships with contemporaries Grace Jones, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Madonna and more.

Arca has produced music for a new installation in the lobby of New York's Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).

The installation has been dubbed ‘Echo (Danny the Street)’ and produced by by French multimedia artist Philippe Parreno who was commissioned to work on the project to coincide with the museum's reopening next week on Monday, October 21st. It will be in place for the next two years.

Mister Saturday Night have placed the soundsystem they use for Mister Sunday parties up for sale on eBay.

It's been placed online with a starting bid of $32,000, though you can also buy it right now for $42,000 if you so choose.

Brooklyn hi-fi bar Public Records has opened an in-house record shop.

Known simply as The Store, the shop is based in the cafe area of the venue and officially opened two years ago. It's being run by DJ Tal Silberstein who also owns the Tel Aviv-based record shop bvrly. It will stock a wide range of music including brand new releases by a number of labels that the venue has partnered with such as Incienso, RVNG Intl., Pacific Rhythm and Sound Metaphors.

New York has a new club called The Dance.

Situated on Lafayette Street in lower Manhattan, the multi-room club comes complete with a 250-capacity main space, and has been opened by Billy Jones, the man behind other New York venues such as Elvis Guesthouse and Baby's All Right.

The Dance officially opened last week, with programming so far covering club events as well as New York Fashion Week parties. A number of modern dancehall figures such as Kelman Duran and Felix Hall played at the venue for one of its first parties.

Michael Kors has released a Fall collection which is inspired by Studio 54, the former New York clubbing institution. 

However the release of the collection has received backlash from Studio 54 co-founder Ian Schrager, who claims Kors never attended the venue.

In a comment on Instagram, Schrager explained, "I don't believe Michael Kors was ever at Studio 54. I certainly don't remember him as he made no impression. This is nothing more than an obvious exploitation by a garment center person to sell some clothes that has nothing to do with Studio or what it was about." 

Galcher Lustwerk has announced a new album, ‘Information’, on Ghostly International. 

The LP is the third to come from the US producer, who has put out one long form per year so far— 2017's 'Dark Bliss' and '200% Galcher' in 2018. 

"Being from the Midwest and with Ghostly putting it out, I think it's fitting to pull together my most Midwest-minded, 'hookier' tracks," Lustwerk said. "I wanted to capture a bittersweet quality that I hear in a lot of other Cleveland producers."

New York record store Halcyon has opened a new location in Brooklyn.

With vinyl sales expected to take over CD sales for the first time since 1986, it's good timing for the new store, which opened its doors at 53 Broadway in Williamsburg on 9th September.

With the store's previous location in Williamsburg having closed on New Year's Day, this new base - which will focus on dance music, as well as disco, hass, funk and more - will operate every day from 10 am to 5 pm.

Due to "overwhelming demand," Eric Prydz has added a third date for his HOLO New York show.

Off the back of releasing 'Pryda 15 Vol II' under his Pryda moniker last month, the Swedish DJ and producer announced via Twitter that he will play NYC's Expo Center on Sunday, 29th December. He has already sold out HOLO shows in the same venue on 27th and 28th December.

After sharing a teaser trailer earlier this week hinting at a return to New York, Eric Prydz has confirmed two shows for his HOLO concept in the city later this year.
